CENTER JR. COUGARS
FOOTBALL & CHEER

Discipline Guidelines
PLEDGE
  1. As Parents and Athletes we pledge to show up to practice and games on time and be prepared.  We understand practice
will be held in the heat and in the cold.  Athletes will be expected to participate in warming up, stretching, running laps, and
conditioning.  These things are not optional.
  2. Football requires total commitment from the athletes and their parents.  Successful teams are united and totally committed
    to teamwork.
  3. The athletes will practice several nights per week.  All of this hard work and dedication will allow our athletes to remain
    competitive throughout the season.
  4. Football is time consuming.  Expect to spend 5 days per week practicing during the first few weeks of the season, then 4
days per week and finally 3 days per week during the season.  Games are on Saturday and are not included in the
mentioned practice days above.  Some teams will have to attend team meetings, barbecues, get-togethers, celebrations
and additional fundraising events that the athletes are expected to participate in, above and beyond the above-mentioned
practices and games.  If you are planning to be away for vacation, retreats, etc. during the football season, this sport is not
for you or your child.  Please be aware of the time commitment involved and make sure that this is a commitment that you
can keep as a parent and as an athlete.
  5. Football is expensive.  The actual cost to CJC is greater than the registration cost, so there will be a requirement that every
athlete and parent in the program participate in fundraising to offset the cost to keep the registration fees down.
  6. Football is strict.  There are many rules that must be adhered to due to safety reasons.  Athletes can not wear jewelry of any
type, you will be expected to be prepared and have your full uniform with you at practices as well as games.  As a CJC
athlete and parent, you are representative of the organization, your respect for all involved in the game including coaches,
players, opponents, opposing fans, and officials is important.  These are just a few of the rules.  The rules will be
enforced.  If the rules are broken, you are at risk of being dropped from the program.
  7. Football participation and commitment to this association is critical and FULL ATTENDANCE at all practices, games, and
other organizational functions is extremely essential.  Attending practices is critical to build a team and have all athletes
comfortable with their roles on the team.  A missing team member creates significant delays with what the team can
    accomplish.
