CENTER JR. COUGARS
FOOTBALL & CHEER
Parent Expectations and Code of Conduct

  • Volunteering:  The Center/Antelope Jr. Cougars are a volunteer run organization.  Board
Members and Coaches are all volunteers giving of their time to make sure players and
cheerleaders have a positive and memorable experience.  Parents are also expected to
participate in the operation of the organization and are required to volunteer a minimum of 10
hours per season, up to 30 hours per season depending on the number of children the family
    has participating in the program.

  • Game Day Admission:  There are many costs associated with running the Jr. Cougar
organization.  For that reason, admission is charged to all games.  Parents who are volunteering
are still charged admission.  Admission for adults is $3.00 during the regular season and $5.00
during playoffs.  High School students with a current ASB card will be admitted for $1.00.  Senior
Citizens and children 13 and under are also $1.00.  Children under 5 are free.

  • Communication with coaches:  Parents with questions or concerns regarding their child's
participation during a practice will wait until practice is over to talk with the Head Coach.  Coaches
are volunteers and should be treated with respect when discussing concerns.  Yelling at or
threatening coaches will not be tolerated.  Parents with questions or concerns regarding game
day participation will not approach the coach on Game Day.  Parents may either call the coach
at home at a later time or approach them prior to the next practice to set a meeting time.  This is
non-negotiable.  Parent concerns WILL NOT be discussed on Game Day at the field.

  • Practices:
  • The first week of practice, players are to wear their Cougar shorts, a t-shirt,
    socks and cleats.
  • Bring a large water bottle to all practices.
  • Attendance is required to ALL practices.
  • Absence as a result of attending a school function is excused.  However, if
the function requires the player to miss all practices in a week, the coach
may have the player sit out of the game for safety reasons.
  • Athletes are expected to be on time to all practices; on time is 15 minutes
prior to the scheduled start of practice.
  • Being late to practice will result in:

  1. Warning
  2. Extra exercises or running extra laps
  3. Sitting out a portion of the game and conference
    with parents and player

  • Active participation is required at ALL practices:  Parents are encouraged to attend
practices and be available for their child if the need arises.  However, parents are not allowed
on the field during practices or on Game Days.  Only certified persons with a badge are allowed
on the field during practices and games.
  • Pick up:  Parents are to be on time to pick up their children from practice if they are not staying
for the practice.  On time is 15 minutes prior to the end of practice, as we will use this time to
communicate necessary information.  Parents that are not there 10 minutes after practice has
ended will have to pick up their children from either the Head Coach's home or the Board
Member on duty's home.  Players WILL NOT be left alone to wait at the practice site.
  • Fundraising:  The CAJC Board must approve any Center/Antelope Jr. Cougar fundraising
event where the proceeds are not to be used as income for the Center/Antelope Jr. Cougars
Association.  Parent's participation in individual fundraising activities and squad/team
fundraising activities do not count towards the required volunteer hours.
